What We Do To Make A Difference

Atinuke Cancer Foundation was born from lived experience. A survivor who understands the fear of a diagnosis, the importance of early detection, the challenges of treatment, and the hope that survivorship can bring.
What began as one survivor’s fight against breast cancer in a low- and middle-income country, Nigeria, at a time when hope seemed invisible, has grown into a mission that has been changing the cancer story for thousands of others.
Today, Atinuke Cancer Foundation empowers communities through cancer awareness and education, promotes early detection, supports patients and survivors, and advocates for equitable access to quality cancer care.

Cancer Awareness, Education, Early Detection & Screening

Through our programs, We provide accessible cancer information that empowers individuals and communities to understand cancer, recognise warning signs and take action, promote early detection and bring cancer screening and awareness closer to communities, helping people take proactive steps towards their health.

Patient & Survivor Support.

Through our programs, We support people affected by cancer, helping patients, survivors and families navigate their journey with dignity, hope and a sense of community.

My Story

From Cancer Patient, To Survivor, To Cancer Advocate, To Leader

In 2014, my life changed when I discovered a lump in my breast at a time when Nigeria was battling Ebola, and cancer was equally highly stigmatised.
What followed was a journey through diagnosis, treatment, uncertainty, resilience and survivorship. That journey eventually became the foundation of a purpose much bigger than my own story.

My experience exposed me to realities that are often best understood by people who have lived through cancer: the fear, delayed diagnosis, limited access to quality care, financial challenges and the emotional weight of navigating treatment. But it also showed me the power of knowledge, support, hope and advocacy.

My experience became a call to action, to raise awareness, promote early detection, support others affected by cancer and advocate for better cancer care. What began as one woman’s fight became a purpose that grew into the Atinuke Cancer Foundation.

Today, I continue that journey as a cancer survivor, advocate and leader, working to ensure that more people are reached with accurate cancer information, communities are properly educated, patients are supported and navigated through their cancer journey, gaps in access to quality care are challenged, and those affected by cancer have more support, more hope and inclusion.
